Get Out and Vote!

It’s hard to believe it’s that time of year, but VMworld sessions are once again up for vote. So, at the risk of sounding like Ryan Seacrest, to ensure your favorites make it to the next round, you gotta go on-line today (polls close Friday) and vote.

Stephen Manley  is on the ballot to present “Accelerating Transformation with Smarter Backup” (#2294).  It’s a technical session you don’t want to miss. Building off his much-talked-about keynote at EMC World 2012, Stephen will explain why speed is the biggest benefit of a transformed backup environment, what three steps organizations need to take to begin transforming their backup environments (hint: it’s not just about the infrastructure) and how one customer accelerated its journey to – and through – the cloud by changing the way it approached backup. The customer will also be on-hand to speak to the process it went through, the infrastructure changes it made  (remember, choices do matter) and the benefits it’s seeing. Truly, a must-see!

Also, @EMC Backup has a full line-up of business and technical sessions planned, covering everything from creating highly efficient backup as a service in the cloud (#2060), to improving the efficiency of VMware backup with cross-domain correlation analysis (#2064), to protecting large, production VDI deployments (#2075), to deploying vCD best practices (#1847), to understanding the challenges of VMware Geo Clusters (#2665).

 May the best sessions win!
